At the elementary school Haru Hinakura attended, there was a girl named Yuki, her face covered in bandages. No one at the school had ever seen Yuki's true face, and the other children, unsettled by her appearance, subjected her to constant, cruel bullying. Their relationship began the day Haru came to her aid.

Haru became Yuki's first friend. She protected Yuki from the bullying, and Yuki, in turn, relied on Haru, growing very attached to her. Haru and Yuki played together almost every day, and gradually, romantic feelings began to blossom between them. But their day of parting arrived suddenly. A hospital capable of treating Yuki had been found, reportedly located in a distant foreign country.

Haru and Yuki promised to reunite, their thoughts never straying from one another even across the distance. Several years later, they finally reunited. On the day of their high school entrance ceremony, Yuki appeared before Haru, her bandages removed.

Her true face, revealed from beneath the bandages for the very first time, was as beautiful as an angel.

And Haru would soon discover the depth of Yuki's feelings, which had intensified during their years of separation. This revelation came through days of intensely sweet affection, like melted honey, presented as her 'repayment' for his kindness.
