I woke up to find myself a weed in a forest. Yet, inexplicably, I could think and possessed a sense of self. Plus, I had some peculiar knowledge. Despite feeling odd about things like game-like status screens and levels, for now, all I could do was survive.

I had a vague feeling I might have been human once, but memories of that were scarce.

Setting that aside, light tasted delicious. While I was thinking, 'Photosynthesis feels so good!', I encountered a high-elf girl who could hear the voices of plants.

It was wonderful to be able to converse. After giving her some fruits and the like, I was plucked out by the girl and taken to the elf village.

Even as I was carefully nurtured, I sensed something… amiss. A suspicious atmosphere hung in the air.

It turned out the elves were a persecuted and exiled race.

Yet, due to their striking appearance, unscrupulous individuals also targeted them for slavery.

The weed, now living with the elves as if they were family, strives to protect them all. It evolves.

This is the tale of a kind-hearted weed that protects the elves, and perhaps, one day, will become the 'World Tree'.
