Gaius, who belonged to 'Crescent Claws' as a beginner-level [Item Master], amicably left the party, seen off with severance pay and apologetic looks. The official reason given was "we can't protect you in an S-rank party" (though the truth was, with two couples in a five-person party, it had become uncomfortable).

He understood he wouldn't be a combat asset, as everyone else had advanced jobs. However, Gaius himself was still an S-rank adventurer, so he began preparing for his journey, thinking he'd find a wife in the countryside, find a job befitting his status, and live out his days there.

However, from then on, the members of 'Crescent Claws' became disliked throughout the city, including by the castle, and furthermore, their careers as adventurers took a steep downward turn.

Gaius, being an orphan originally, heard rumors about 'Crescent Claws' but thought, 'No way, that can't be right.' He happened to stop in the Novice's Forest near the capital, where he kept getting involved in trouble and couldn't easily return...

By doing things only a beginner-level [Item Master] could do, he unwittingly cleaned up 'Crescent Claws'' messes, and before he knew it, the reputation of [Item Master] Gaius began to rise relatively...

What will become of Gaius and 'Crescent Claws'?

A coming-of-age otherworld fantasy with intertwining perspectives.
