Confined to an isolated cottage due to her inability to be exposed to sunlight, Lady Alexia, a Duke's daughter, begins researching magic, inspired by her foster mother, to somehow overcome her condition.

In the midst of her research, Horatio, a traveler from a foreign land, visits her, drawn by the various lights she emits during the night.

With Horatio's help, Alexia overcomes her sensitivity to the sun, and the two begin attending the Royal Academy. However, at the Academy, the Crown Prince, having fallen for a Saintess, is openly neglecting his fiancée.

The Saintess appears to have some ulterior motive, and Horatio, too, seems to be harboring his own intentions.

The story of the romantic turmoil unfolding at the academy is about to begin... not quite.

For Alexia, her time with Horatio is what she enjoys most of all.
