Shunsuke Yamashina, a college student, is an inveterate, money-grubbing miser. A chance encounter at a mixer leads to Hinano Moryo, the daughter of a major corporation's president, offering him a fixed-term 'lover' contract. Hinano, whose future marriage to a partner chosen by her parents is already decided, expresses a desire to experience a movie-like romance before that time comes. Attracted by the good hourly wage and conditions, and also appreciating Hinano's pragmatic approach, Shunsuke accepts her offer.

Hinano, whom he had assumed to be a cold young lady, is surprisingly adorable, and their peculiar employment relationship turns out to be unexpectedly enjoyable.
