Arihito learns this is a somewhat grim world where all transmigrators become Labyrinth Seekers and are not allowed any other way of life. For now, following the customs of Seekers, he decides to write his desired profession on the tag. While it's said that one can take up a profession if they possess the aptitude for it, Arihito hears talk that "skilled rear-guards are in short supply" and simply writes "Rear-Guard" in the profession field. Arihito, who inexplicably manages to become a "Rear-Guard"—a profession that is neither a Mage nor an Archer and has never existed in Labyrinth Nation before—through experimentation, discovers the utility and versatility of the skills inherent to the "Rear-Guard" profession, finds his ideal party members, and rapidly ascends the ranks of Seekers.
