The story begins with Toono Hifumi holding a sword to the throat of a young girl, Princess Imeraria of the kingdom of Orthosgrande. Hifumi, a young man with exceptional martial prowess honed through rigorous training, finds himself in this predicament after being abruptly summoned from his world. He had been meditating in his dojo when two beings appeared: a god representing the world's administration and a god of martial arts. They informed him that a "rift" between worlds, created by someone in his original world, was destabilizing both, and he was marked as a beacon for summoning. To mitigate the disruption, he was to be sent to another world, a "world of swords and magic," where his combat skills would be useful.
Before his departure, the gods bestowed gifts upon him: the administrative god enhanced his sword, making it unbreakable and rust-proof, while the martial god granted him a "divine protection" that would significantly boost his martial abilities. A grim reaper-like figure also appeared, offering him the "dark attribute" for potential dark magic use in the new world. Hifumi, however, displayed a chilling ruthlessness by immediately killing the reaper, stating he would not be used. He then willingly embraced his summoning, eager to use his power to take lives.
Upon arriving in Orthosgrande, Hifumi immediately confronts Princess Imeraria, demanding to know if she summoned him. She confesses, explaining that her kingdom is struggling against monstrous demi-humans and she used an ancient summoning ritual to call forth a hero. Hifumi, however, sees himself not as a hero but as a victim and a killer. He quickly dispatches the royal knights who attempt to intervene, demonstrating overwhelming skill. He then confronts Imeraria's father, King Willbarken Goldenheim Orthosgrande, who ordered the summoning. Hifumi, disgusted by the King's arrogance and his attempt to leverage Hifumi's power for his own gain, kills him. He demands a significant portion of the kingdom's treasury as compensation for the forced displacement and the King's actions.
After securing the payment, Hifumi leaves the castle with two newly acquired slaves, Origa and Kasha, whom he purchased from a slave market. Origa possesses wind and water magic and offers to be his companion, while Kasha is a skilled swordswoman. Hifumi, despite his violent nature and disregard for authority, shows a degree of consideration towards those he deems his "subordinates." He intends to explore this new world, gather knowledge, and further hone his combat abilities, with a stated goal of returning to his original world to "stir things up." The narrative ends with Hifumi, accompanied by Origa and Kasha, heading into the bustling city, ready to face whatever challenges and opportunities this new world presents.
