The narrative begins with Fild, a "Point Gifter" for the guild "Glory of Light," being unceremoniously dismissed by Guild Master Claude. Fild, who had diligently contributed by sharing and amplifying experience points, is deemed no longer necessary by the guild's top members: Dorothy, a powerful and arrogant mage; Bobson, a boastful physical attacker; and Carl, a conceited healer. They believe their levels are maxed out and they are already the strongest, rendering Fild's abilities redundant. Fild, feeling betrayed and undervalued after years of service, decides to leave the guild, vowing to quit. The guild members mock him, wishing him starvation and a penniless end. Unbeknownst to them, Fild's departure will soon plunge "Glory of Light" into crisis.
As Fild walks away, he experiences a cascade of "LV UP" notifications. He realizes that the experience points he had gifted and amplified for the guild have now returned to him. His status screen reveals an astonishing leap from level 1 to level 170, with immense stat increases far beyond any known adventurer. This surge is a direct result of his Point Gifter skill, which redistributes amplified experience. Empowered and hopeful, Fild decides to pursue his dream of eating dragon meat. He heads to the royal capital, Altea, to gather information.
In Altea, Fild visits the Royal Adventurer's Guild. His request for dragon information surprises the receptionist, but when a boastful warrior mocks him, Fild easily defeats him with a single blow, impressing the receptionist. He learns that dragons have been sighted in the mountainous region of the Nautilus territory. Despite warnings, Fild heads out alone. Meanwhile, "Glory of Light" is visited by the renowned Sword Saint, Lunasis Arclight, who expresses a keen interest in meeting Fild, the Point Gifter. The guild executives, led by Claude and Dorothy, are forced to lie, claiming Fild is on a long vacation. This deception causes internal conflict and anxiety among the executives, especially as Lunasis threatens to leave if Fild is no longer with the guild.
Claude and Dorothy, desperate to appease Lunasis and cover up their dismissal of Fild, devise a plan. Upon learning Fild is heading towards the northern mountains, they decide to assassinate him and claim he died there, hoping this will satisfy Lunasis. They set out with a few guild members, but find themselves inexplicably fatigued, a symptom of their reliance on Fild's amplified experience. They encounter merchants blocked by a dragon sighting. When Fild arrives, the merchants recognize his former guild's crest and beg him to clear the path. Fild, still technically a former member, agrees and is rewarded with valuable spices.
Claude and Dorothy intercept Fild in the mountains. They are shocked by his immense power, their own amplified abilities failing them against him. Fild easily defeats Claude and Dorothy, who are forced to retreat, abandoning their subordinates. Fild then frees the captured merchants, who are grateful and offer to share their dragon meat feast. They discuss the "Glory of Light's" cruelty, and the merchants vow to report their actions to the authorities.
Back at "Glory of Light," Carl and Bobson are informed of a summons from the kingdom. Claude and Dorothy return, admitting their failure to eliminate Fild and their own weakened state. Lunasis confronts them, her suspicion growing. When they continue to lie about Fild's whereabouts, she declares she will leave the guild if he is not present. To appease her, Claude and Dorothy agree to take her to the capital, hoping to resolve the situation. The chapter ends with the guild executives, including Lunasis, heading to the capital, unaware of the impending consequences of their actions.
