The story begins in the bustling city of Nailden, the second largest city in the Ashfar Kingdom. The protagonist, Anise, a young woman of 18, lives in the impoverished Western District and works as a shoe shiner in the affluent Northern District to repay a debt. Despite her worn appearance, Anise possesses a kind heart and a strong sense of responsibility, particularly towards her ailing mother, Rinne. Anise disguises herself as a boy, a habit instilled by her mother for safety reasons in the rough Western District.
Her life takes a dramatic turn when Count Royden, to whom they owe a significant debt, visits their humble home. He propositions Rinne, offering to forgive their debt if she becomes his concubine. Rinne refuses, but the Count gives them until the end of the month to repay the entire sum, threatening dire consequences if they fail. This revelation deeply distresses Anise, who feels the weight of the impossible task of earning such a large amount of money in such a short time.
Driven by desperation, Anise seeks work in the more vibrant Southern District, known as the "night town." She finds employment as a waiter in a bar, a job that pays significantly more than shoe shining. While working there, she encounters Milan, a wealthy patron who takes an unwelcome interest in her. During this time, Anise also has a surprising encounter with Ryu, a regular customer from her shoe-shining days. Ryu, who is revealed to be the boss of the powerful "Silver Dragon's Lair" mafia, intervenes and arranges for Anise to work in the kitchen, ensuring her safety and a stable income.
Meanwhile, Rinne, after being released from the Count's clutches by the intervention of Duke Hury, a childhood friend of hers, is taken to the Duke's villa. The Duke, who has been searching for Rinne and her child for 18 years, reveals that Rinne is actually the former Princess Fairis, and her son, Anise, is the lost heir. He offers them a place to live at his villa, where they can live safely and comfortably.
Ryu, concerned about Anise's disappearance, investigates her whereabouts. He discovers that Rinne was taken by Duke Hury and deduces that Anise is likely with her. He travels to the Duke's villa, where he is reunited with Anise and her mother.
