The Monster Life of an Ordinary Recruit

Description

In an empire on the brink of collapse, at war with all its surrounding nations, the protagonist is conscripted as a new recruit, unable to avoid it for having "no distinguishing features." However, what awaited him was not the battlefield... but a research facility. The protagonist readily accepted the scientists' invitation, underwent genetic enhancement surgery, and successfully "class-changed" into a monster. Yet, the neighboring countries paid no mind to the Empire's circumstances. The protagonist was never deployed in actual combat, and time simply passed while he remained asleep.

Approximately 200 years later—the protagonist, awakened from cold sleep, found his homeland already gone. With only his monster-transformed body, he begins a survival journey in the vast forest that was once Imperial territory.

This story is about an utterly ordinary young man who becomes a high-spec monster and, while surviving, gradually raises "defeat flags" as he helps and sometimes fights against humans. —I think.
