A boy named Alan, living in a certain rural village, was the childhood friend of the girl called the Hero.

He swore vengeance against the Demon Lord who took his precious childhood friend. Despite possessing no special talents, he developed a sword style capable of defeating superior foes through extraordinary effort. Finally, he achieved his revenge by fatally wounding the Demon Lord, who was already severely injured from the battle with the Hero, at the cost of his own life.

However, even after avenging her, she did not return.

Overwhelmed by sorrow and loss, Alan lost his life... only to realize he had traveled back in time to before his childhood friend was taken to the battlefield as the Hero.

Knowing the despairing future, Alan vows.

With the power he gained for revenge, this time, he will protect his precious childhood friend to the very end.
