The story begins with Rosemary, a two-year-old girl, suddenly regaining memories of a past life as a Japanese woman. This revelation, triggered while observing her newborn brother Oscar, leaves her stunned. She realizes she has been reincarnated into a different world, a common trope in the web novels she used to read. Despite her adult consciousness, her two-year-old body limits her, making even simple actions difficult. She notes her unusual silver and gold eyes and royal blue hair, contrasting with her brother's brown hair. Their opulent surroundings and the foreign language spoken by her family further confirm her transmigration.
Over the next two years, Rosemary observes her family, noticing significant oddities. Her parents, Dahlia and Carlos Randall, a Count, rarely interact, only performing pleasantries when guests are present. Her mother, Dahlia, is obsessed with appearances, frequently ordering expensive dresses and jewelry, and attending social events. Crucially, Dahlia shows no affection towards Oscar, her son and heir, while showering Rosemary with excessive attention, hinting at a deeper, possibly manipulative, motivation. Rosemary also notices the frequent turnover of maids, with only one stoic maid remaining constant.
At age four, Rosemary begins receiving tutelage from a renowned tutor. She learns about the kingdom of Rosenberg, a monarchy with a strict social hierarchy, and her family's position as Counts. Her mother's arrogant pronouncements become clearer with her growing knowledge. Rosemary, while absorbing information rapidly, conceals her intelligence to avoid drawing undue attention.
A year later, at age five, Rosemary finally has a conversation with her father, Carlos. She learns his name, Sebastian Vincent, and that he is her father. Carlos, seemingly distant, informs Rosemary of an upcoming meeting with the Prince, along with two other children of similar age. This event prompts Rosemary to question her father about his lack of interaction and his relationship with her mother. Sebastian reveals that Carlos and Dahlia were married through a political arrangement, explaining their lack of affection. He also confirms that Oscar is their legitimate child, but avoids explaining Dahlia's neglect of him.
Rosemary, realizing her mother's ambition to become Queen and her manipulative nature, decides to protect Oscar. She learns that her paternal grandparents live in a separate estate and, with Sebastian's help, arranges a visit. There, she reveals her family's dire financial situation due to Dahlia's extravagance and her mother's manipulative schemes. Her grandparents, appalled, agree to help.
The story culminates with Rosemary, Oscar, and their nursemaid Rita moving to the grandparents' estate. Rosemary's grandparents initiate divorce proceedings against Dahlia, who is sent back to her family. The estate's affairs are then managed by the grandmother, while Rosemary's father, Carlos, begins to show a more paternal side, particularly after Rosemary's distress at the royal palace. Rosemary also uncovers that the constant maid turnover was due to a corrupt head maid extorting money from them, a scheme she and her grandmother expose and rectify, leading to the remaining maids' loyalty. The narrative ends with the family on the cusp of reform, with Rosemary determined to protect her brother and reshape their household.
