Altea, a continent where humans and non-human beings thrive.
One day, a great river crossing the continent from east to west transformed into a magical wall that pierced the heavens.
Its origin and purpose were unknown. The wall stood, devouring the magical energy and life of all who approached, and was later dubbed "The Boundary Line," severing interspecies exchange for ages.
Fearing the Boundary Line, humans strictly penalized unauthorized contact with the wall. They bestowed the title of "Holy Knight" upon those talented enough to resist the wall's magic, authorizing them to cross beyond the wall and conduct investigations.
...Time passed, and now, the present day.
On the night Holy Knight Christia completed her third expedition in search of the missing predecessor Holy Knight.
