Dawson Eda is a young man who has just graduated second in his class from the Amato Imperial Republic Military Academy.

Due to the Commandant's machinations, he is appointed to the rank of "Special Ensign" upon graduation. His mission is to command a privateer starship and operate as a space pirate within the sphere of influence of the enemy, the "Human Unification State Space Union."

The only support provided by the Imperial Republic for this mission is the privateer vessel *Great Maw* and initial supplies. His only companion for the mission is Oine, a communication AI.

Although it is an absurd mission, Dawson must find ways to harm the SU (Space Union) and benefit the Amato Imperial Republic, all while maintaining his false identity as a pirate and interacting with others of his kind.

No one yet knows what path Dawson's military career will take at the end of this pirate mission.
