At my high school, there are two Sato Hajimes, myself included.
One is Sato Hajime-kun, the basketball team's ace, who is the epitome of good looks and academic/athletic excellence.
In contrast, I, the 'second' Sato Hajime, was an unremarkable male student in class, destined never to be number one.
Nevertheless, through a chance encounter, I grew close to Minamino Chinatsu, the most popular student not just in our class, but in the entire grade, and our relationship gradually began to change.
This is the story of the 'second-string' me and the 'number one' her.
