A significant event involves Count Luzelia, a lord of the kingdom's frontier. After his family was assassinated by Barbass's faction, disguised as an accident, Luzelia sought revenge and tried to address the kingdom's decline. He presented his case directly to King Solye during a banquet hosted by Harsherik. However, this backfired, leading to his arrest for treason and subsequent execution. Before his death, Luzelia entrusted Harsherik with information about the kingdom's state and a pocket watch, which Harsherik now possesses.
The narrative also introduces Schwarz, nicknamed Kuro, a mysterious and skilled former spy from the "Shadow Fang" organization. Kuro is a black-haired, red-eyed individual with exceptional combat and information-gathering abilities. He is aloof and ruthless, but fiercely loyal to Harsherik, whom he serves as a butler. Luke, the king's chief butler and Solye's childhood friend, is a loyal retainer whose family has been distanced from the capital due to the minister's machinations. Melia, Harsherik's wet nurse, hails from Count Luzelia's former territory.
