Leidor Zain was born and raised as the second prince of the Zain Kingdom. Leidor had been living a peaceful life, surrounded by his kind older brother and loyal retainers, but his fate drastically changed when he was chosen by the Holy Sword "Dainsleif," a treasure passed down through the royal family, at his coming-of-age ceremony. His elder brother, the prince, hated him as an enemy who threatened his royal authority, and he was abandoned by his retainers and even his fiancée, exiled all alone to a pioneering city on the frontier.

Since then, Leidor, who had desperately struggled to survive on the frontier, a den of monsters, earned the trust of those around him and found new happiness with his companions amidst a poor yet harsh life. However―― his fate began to stir once again when the neighboring Arthsline Empire launched an invasion of the Zain Kingdom. Forced by his elder brother to fight in order to protect the kingdom from the imperial invasion, Leidor resolves to rebel against the utterly selfish demands of those who exiled him.
