Millyage, a baron's daughter from an impoverished territory, one day finds herself chosen as one of ten candidates for Crown Princess, all because the frivolous Crown Prince declared, "I want to marry the most beautiful woman in the country."

Millyage, who usually lacks any fashion sense and lives a plain, inconspicuous life, thinks, "If such a frivolous Crown Prince becomes king, the country will be ruined!" and vows to "protect her territory and its people!" Of course, she has absolutely no interest in the Crown Princess competition and wants to drop out as soon as possible.
