Shortly after Lady Melissa, daughter of the Duke, turned ten, her cousin Amelia, who was the same age and had lost her parents, was taken in by the ducal family. From that day on, Melissa became invisible to her father, brother, and grandmother, who doted on Amelia and fussed over her.

Amidst this, Melissa and Amelia's magical powers clashed due to their poor compatibility, causing both of them to get injured.
