Lars, an orphan, suffered a severe injury as a child.

Instead of becoming overly afraid of death, he dedicated himself to mastering the healing magic that had saved his life.

Even when there was no one or no livestock left to heal, he practiced his healing on trees and rocks.

However, Lars, whose true calling was [Unemployed], could only ever cast the lowest-grade healing magic, no matter how much he practiced. Furthermore, even that healing wouldn't activate unless he was physically touching the target. Since he couldn't cast healing spells from a distance to party members, he wasn't even considered a healer, let alone an adventurer.

He also couldn't learn swordsmanship, magic, hunting, or farming.

Finally, at age 17, with the return of an intermediate healer to the village, he was cast out as useless.

Lars left for the city in search of a place where he could survive.

Unlike his poor village, the city had all sorts of things discarded as trash.

"Wait... if I heal broken swords, rusty armor, and damaged accessories with healing magic and sell them, I could make a fortune, couldn't I...?"

Realizing this, Lars began picking up trash everywhere, repairing it to like-new condition, and selling it.

For some reason, the items he "coincidentally" picked up were all high-end, and he made a huge profit.

Lars, however, was oblivious.

When he repaired them, weapons and armor gained excellent unique skills such as [Attack Speed Up: Great] and [Fire Resistance: Extreme].

Though those around him were taken aback by what they considered impossible magic, he continued to mistakenly believe that the trash he picked up just happened to be high-grade.

He then opened his own thriving shop, and in times of urban crisis, he became a hero with just a single healing spell.
