I was taken in by a slave of the ducal family. Apparently, I was an abandoned child, so I was a slave too.
It's common for slaves to work; in fact, there's no such thing as a slave who doesn't work.
So I worked too. I worked without rest.
However, our master was kind enough to grant "free" time even to slaves like us.
While other slaves used their free time for rest, I spent that time studying something I was told would be useful in the future. Then, an angel-like child appeared and asked, "Who are you?"
So I replied, "I am a servant." That was a mistake.
That angel was the ducal family's young lady—a noble, mischievous, insufferable brat.
For some reason, she took a liking to me, and I ended up being taken by her to the royal capital's academy.
