At the arranged marriage meeting he intended to decline, his best friend from whom he had been separated ten years ago appeared.

"Why not with me?"

The girl, Karasuma Yuika (formerly known as 'Yuu-kun'), who had transformed from a tomboy into a stunning beauty, was now proposing herself as a marriage partner. Kujo Shuichi, the heir to a prestigious family, was being rushed into marriage while still a high school student, following an ancient family precept. Yuika, it seemed, was in a similar predicament.

"Marrying someone you barely know is too much of a gamble, isn't it? In that respect, I thought it would be easier if it were Shu-kun."

With such a casual attitude, she was trying to decide on marriage. On the other hand, Shuichi, who had grown completely distrustful of people due to only being approached by those seeking personal gain since childhood, could indeed let his guard down if his former best friend were the one. Or rather, he felt he couldn't possibly live with any other woman, so there were effectively no other options. Thus, due to this convergence of interests, their marriage was formed in a somewhat business-like manner. Hence, every time he caught a glimpse of the 'womanly' side of the beautifully grown-up Yuika, Shuichi would feel flustered, yet he constantly tried to maintain the distance of mere 'best friends.'

"Shu-kun... he asked me to marry him!"

While outwardly interacting with him in a lighthearted manner so as not to be seen as an "intense" woman, Yuika had, for the past ten years, been secretly nurturing a hidden love.

Life with her best friend, with whom she clicked more than anyone else, was as endlessly enjoyable as it had always been.
