Eva, the daughter of Duke Closure, is an incompetent who cannot use spirit magic.

Having lost her parents at a young age, she was relegated to the status of a servant and mistreated by her uncle, who inherited the family, his second wife, and their daughter, her stepsister Malti.

By an ancient pact, she was engaged to Rizley, the crown prince of the kingdom. However, he was having an affair with her stepsister and was plotting to annul his engagement to Eva and marry Malti.

The only paths left after the annulment were either exile from the country or becoming Malti's personal maid, living like a slave for life.

Eva chooses to be exiled and live freely rather than become her stepsister's slave.

And so, along with her attendant Alan and others who accompanied her, she set off for the neighboring Kingdom of Foresty.
