On January 8th, as a third-grade homeroom teacher, I collected the children's winter break essays. As I read through them, I found that an essay by a boy who'd had an excessively fantastical summer vacation had spun off wildly into the realm of science fiction. This is the story of a teacher who, as usual, can't help but point out the absurdities while reading about these curious winter occurrences.
