Description
After school, while waiting at a traffic light to go home, Isurugi Eito was involved in an accident when a car crashed into them, taking the hit instead of a female student in the same uniform. He became paralyzed from the neck down.
A man in a white coat then offered him treatment if he would agree to become a test subject. Eito agreed, hoping to recover his physical abilities. As part of his rehabilitation, he somehow ended up becoming a beta tester for a VR game. He participated in the beta test, but he was so focused on his rehabilitation that the beta test period concluded before he knew it!?
Dejected that he hadn't played at all, he then learned that beta testers would receive the product version of the game. He vowed to play to his heart's content once the full version launched! However, he then took a gamble, opting to have his job and stats determined randomly.
Despite his condition making proper gameplay seem impossible, he navigates the game with his characteristic 'it'll all work out' spirit.
And in the world of the VRMMO 'alter・world' (Alter World) — a game he had barely touched due to his intense focus on rehabilitation — he gradually becomes recognized as one of its famous players...
