The narrative picks up with Raid, the former hero, imprisoned and subjected to brutal torture by ministers of the Hazen Kingdom. Despite enduring severe physical abuse, including whipping and having his fingernails removed over a month, Raid steadfastly refuses to draw the Holy Sword Evans again. His motivation stems from a deep-seated hatred for his former allies and country, who he feels betrayed him. He asserts that his physical prowess and mastery of large swords are sufficient, as proven by his past victories against the Demon Lord's army. The ministers, desperate to defeat the Demon Lord, demand he use the Holy Sword, believing it's the only way. They eventually release him, deeming him no longer a hero for refusing the sword, and banish him from the kingdom with only a meager amount of gold.
Upon his expulsion, Raid, heavily injured but resilient due to his exceptional healing abilities, seeks refuge in an inn. After a week of deep sleep and recovery, he learns from the innkeeper that a new, "true" hero has been found, and he himself is now a wanted criminal across all nations, with a substantial bounty on his head. Unconcerned by this, Raid decides to head towards the Demon Lord's castle, a seemingly suicidal endeavor that highlights his immense, almost monstrous, strength.
His journey to the demon realm is fraught with caution, as he wears a mask and hood to conceal his identity. Upon entering a demon town, he is confronted by three demons who demand he reveal his face. Raid warns them to leave, but they attack him with magic. He effortlessly nullifies their spells with a gust of wind imbued with his immense magic. When they resort to physical attacks, he incapacitates them without killing them, stating that demons are no longer his enemies. The other demons, witnessing his power, part to let him pass.
Reaching the Demon Lord's castle, Raid is challenged by the gatekeepers. He dispatches them with ease and proceeds to face the Demon Lord's Four Heavenly Kings. He defeats the first, Balzak, a giant wielding a cursed greatsword, by catching his attack with one hand and then overwhelming him with his own power. He then defeats the remaining two Heavenly Kings, Irina and Lilith, before reaching the throne room.
There, he encounters the Demon Lord, Fran Vireale, a beautiful, petite young woman with horns and pink twin-tails, accompanied by her butler, Venom. Venom, also a Heavenly King, engages Raid but is quickly outmatched. Fran, impressed by Raid's power and recognizing his strength surpasses even her own, proposes a duel with a condition: if she wins, Raid will become her subordinate; if he wins, he can do as he pleases. Raid agrees.
Their battle is intense, with both fighters demonstrating immense power. Fran uses her powerful "Hellfire Bullet" and a sacred sword capable of cutting anything, but Raid, using a thin, compressed layer of magic, deflects her attacks. He eventually defeats Venom and then engages Fran. Their fight devastates the surrounding landscape. After a fierce exchange, Fran unleashes her ultimate attack, "Black Sun," a devastating fiery sphere. Raid survives this attack by unleashing 80% of his power, shattering his mask and revealing his human face to a stunned Fran. He declares himself the former hero, Raid, and the third round of their battle begins. Fran, upon seeing Raid's face, is instantly smitten and, realizing she cannot defeat him, proposes marriage. Raid, having no one left in his human life and finding Fran's genuine affection appealing, accepts. Their union marks a significant turning point, signaling the end of humanity's hope for victory.
