College student and avid net gamer Suzumiya Kaede collapses from extreme sleep deprivation after a four-day gaming binge. He awakens not in his familiar room, but in a dense forest, disoriented and wearing unfamiliar clothes. Quickly realizing this isn't a dream, he discovers his physical abilities are greatly enhanced, allowing him to jump meters high effortlessly. His confusion deepens when he encounters a six-legged, green-furred "Green Wolf," a creature unlike anything from Earth or his games.
Attempting game commands, Kaede accidentally activates a translucent status window, revealing his name, age, gender, and surprisingly high stats (MP, INT, DEX) for a Level 1 human. More critically, he discovers unique skills like "Information Manipulation Analysis" (a superior appraisal and information-hiding ability), "Otherworld Language Mastery," "Magic Aptitude," "Martial Arts Aptitude," "All-Attribute Affinity," and "Otherworlder (Rank 10)," which confirms he has been transported to another world and grants him significant stat boosts. Realizing the implications, Kaede uses "Information Manipulation Analysis" to hide his unique skills and the "Otherworlder" status to avoid drawing unwanted attention.
His first encounter with a Green Wolf turns into a desperate escape, leading him to discover an "Item Box" skill, which allows him to store items by touch, its capacity linked to his high MP. Forced to fight, Kaede, guided by his "Magic Aptitude," instinctively learns "Fire Magic" by imagining a fireball. He defeats the Green Wolf, leveling up and further boosting his stats. He then learns "Water Magic" to extinguish the spreading fire. Accepting his new reality and having no ties to his old world, Kaede decides to embrace this adventure.
He soon stumbles upon a merchant caravan under attack by Green Wolves. He aids the two adventurers, Mols and Karak, by instinctively learning "Earth Magic" and using rock spears to incapacitate a wolf, allowing Mols to finish it. Grateful, Mols and Karak introduce Kaede to the nearby walled town of Eyn. Kaede feigns amnesia to explain his lack of knowledge and possessions. Karak, a merchant, explains the world's currency system and the rarity of "Magic Aptitude," which is required for the Item Box skill, making it a valuable asset.
In Eyn, Kaede registers at the Adventurer's Guild, meeting the kind but easily flustered receptionist, Salis. He learns about the guild's G-S rank system, quests, and rules. He also learns about the town's diverse population, including various beastfolk and the existence of slavery. After a confusing detour where he gets lost and finds Dvelrag, a gruff but skilled Dwarf blacksmith, Kaede learns about the high cost of weapons. Dvelrag, recognizing Kaede's "Martial Arts Aptitude," offers to craft him equipment once he earns enough.
Kaede decides to take on a low-rank Zunana Grass gathering quest. Using his "Information Manipulation Analysis," he discovers a unique ability to see red markers on Zunana Grass, allowing him to efficiently collect hundreds of them. This rapid income quickly makes him wealthy. During a night-time gathering trip, he's ambushed by a pack of Green Wolves. Combining his shield (bought from Dvelrag) with his fast, no-chant magic, he defeats them, leveling up again. Salis is astonished by his combat prowess and unusual magic style, which deviates from typical mages who require concentration and staffs.
Returning to Dvelrag, Kaede buys a shield and, in an unexpected turn, teaches the Dwarf the "quenching" technique to harden metal. Dvelrag is amazed by the discovery and, in gratitude, promises Kaede a free, high-quality sword. Kaede then dedicates time to experimenting with his magic, developing more powerful, multi-target spells (like multiple fireballs and larger rock spears) and a "Perception Magic" skill that creates a radar-like map of living creatures. By the end, Kaede has amassed wealth, acquired powerful equipment, and significantly enhanced his magical abilities, transforming from a bewildered newcomer into a formidable and uniquely talented adventurer, ready for the challenges ahead.
