Touma Kiritani was suddenly begged for food by four female classmates in the classroom. Upon hearing their story, Touma learned they wanted him to play "Unknown Pioneer Online" (UPO), a full-dive VRMMO they had played the beta version of, from its official launch and cook for them. In this game, food is essential, but dishes not prepared by a player are either tasteless or horrible. Furthermore, even with a cooking skill, if the player themselves can't cook, they can only produce terrible food. Accepting their request—because even in a game, they found such a situation unacceptable—Touma put his well-honed skills, developed to eventually take over his family's business, to full use. Such cooking was bound to attract attention.
