Crosse, a young man who had served the Holy Church as a priest, was one day excommunicated from the church.

This was because it was discovered that he was a human mixed with the blood of a 'demon race,' said to be descended from an 'Evil God,' and was thus branded a 'defiled being' by the church.

"Fine by me! To excommunicate him with such petty discrimination, without even considering Crosse's past contributions! Let's leave this church on our own terms! Right, Crosse!"

The truth was, Crosse had, for some time, been able to see and converse with the goddess worshipped by this very Holy Church—Eleonore.

The Goddess, deeply smitten with Crosse, was furious about his excommunication and, astonishingly, left the church with him and followed him out.

In any case, now a free man, Crosse still wished to use his powers to help people, and for the time being, decided to become an adventurer.

However, Crosse possessed immense magical power derived from an 'Evil God'—and the 'Light Magic' spells he used were all extraordinary. Despite joining a party as a support and healer, he would end up protecting his fellow adventurers and performing heroically in combat.

Yet, Crosse himself, with a pure and almost naive personality, was only interested in helping people, even attempting to create magic tools to benefit daily life using the 'magic stones' he earned as reward.
