Description
Doris was born to take a husband into the family and succeed the earldom, in place of her sickly elder sister.

As Doris fretted over her future—whether to be confined uselessly on the estate or forced to become the second wife of an elderly or troubled noble—a marriage proposal arrived from the most prominent ducal family of the era.
This story was adapted into a comic in the fourth volume of Ichijinsha's *My Engagement Was Broken, But I'm Living Happily! Anthology Comic*, released on March 31, 2023.
