The protagonist, a former salaryman who loved fantasy novels, awakens naked in a forest, having been reincarnated as an elf. He discovers he is now a young girl with platinum blonde hair and distinctive, slightly droopy ears, a stark contrast to his previous male identity. His initial shock is compounded by the realization that he lacks any memories beyond his past life's hobbies and the fact that he is now female. Driven by hunger and the need for clothing, he finds edible peach-like fruits and clean water. As night falls, he faces the danger of predators but is unable to conjure magic, leaving him feeling utterly helpless.
The following days are spent in survival. He manages to survive the first night and begins to focus on self-preservation, including the need for clothes and the hope of gaining some form of power. He discovers he can produce the peach-like fruit, which he dubs "Peaches," through a strange, seemingly innate ability. This ability, while useful for sustenance, is initially disappointing as it only replicates the fruit. However, he soon discovers its offensive potential when a thrown Peach pierces a large tree. He also experiments with eating various plants, experiencing severe side effects like paralysis and petrification, but gradually adapts and learns to identify edible and safe items. After a year of intense, albeit unconventional, training focused on survival and consumption, he has "conquered" the forest, meaning he can eat almost anything. He realizes the forest is unnaturally devoid of life and decides to leave.
He finds a large dragon statue, which he treats as a silent companion and confessor. Upon deciding to leave the forest, he is gifted a pendant from the statue. Emerging into a vast grassland, he is awestruck by the open sky and the presence of normal wildlife, confirming the abnormality of the forest. Still naked, he sets out to find civilization. After several days, he stumbles upon a small, desolate village, ravaged and long abandoned, filled with skeletal remains. Using his elven night vision, he discovers a glowing female ghost in the village square.
The ghost reveals herself to be Elthina, a former adventurer who was betrayed by her companions and the village was destroyed. She has been bound to the village as a ghost for five years, unable to touch anything. Elthina, seeing the protagonist's kindness in gathering the remains, decides to pass on her knowledge and magic to him. Through a telepathic connection, he learns her language and accepts her request. He is given her name, Elthina Lanforri Etil, and inherits her magical abilities, which include various elemental and utility spells, as well as her memories and a desire for justice.
Now named Elthina, he leaves the village and travels for two weeks to the capital city, Filimisia. Upon arrival, he is mistaken for a runaway child and, due to his white elf heritage, is immediately recognized as having potential for healing magic. He is directed to the Healer's Guild, where he learns that skilled healers are scarce due to a past war and the death of many powerful individuals. He is identified as an S-rank talent, a rarity, and is pressured to become a "Saint" to aid the kingdom against an impending demon lord threat. Though reluctant and focused on his goal of world culinary exploration, he agrees to cooperate until the demon lord is defeated, setting the stage for his future adventures. He begins his training as a healer within the grand Healer's Guild, which also houses a temple and extensive facilities. He learns that magic is generally cast without incantation, but his initial attempts are clumsy. He also discovers that his inherited magical abilities are primarily utility-based, with only one combat spell, "Fireball." He continues his training, driven by his desire for good food and the need to protect himself, while also dealing with the overwhelming attention he receives as a rare white elf and potential savior.
