Chapters 3-12 detail the attempted resurrection of the evil god Adeki by the sorcerer Salem, his subsequent accidental death, and the subsequent arrival and integration of the protagonist, Isshi Furuterai, into a community of homunculi.
Salem, a sorcerer dwelling in a hidden, magically protected cave, is on the verge of reviving Adeki. His ritual requires the lives of a thousand children, which he intends to take from one thousand homunculus girls he has created and stored in test tubes in a vast underground chamber. He prepares a potent red liquid, into which he places a horn, an artifact said to be a part of Adeki. The horn absorbs the liquid, becoming a prepared vessel for the souls. As Salem descends to the chamber to initiate the final stage, a violent tremor shakes the cave, indicating an intrusion by heroes. In his haste to begin the summoning spell, a rockfall caused by the tremors crushes Salem, killing him instantly. The incomplete summoning circle, however, goes berserk, randomly selecting a target from any world, time, or place. This results in Isshi, a high school student who was taking a test, being summoned into the chamber.
Confused and disoriented by the strange environment, Isshi discovers the sleeping homunculi. He approaches one test tube and, out of curiosity, taps it. The homunculus inside, designated No. 0001, awakens and, to Isshi's shock, addresses him as "Master," stating she has successfully activated. She explains Salem's failed ritual and his death. Isshi, initially distracted by her nudity, asks for clothes, which she retrieves from a storage box. He introduces himself and expresses his bewilderment at being transported from his test. No. 0001, unable to comprehend his concept of "high school student," perceives him as a scholar.
Another tremor hits, causing further cave-ins. Isshi realizes the cave is collapsing and urges No. 0001 to wake the other homunculi. She explains that a loud call will awaken them, and they will follow his instructions. Isshi, despite his confusion, calls out, awakening all one thousand homunculi, who then bow to him in unison. No. 0001 suggests seeking help from the heroes who attacked the cave, but Isshi refuses, stating that homunculi, despite their origin, have human rights and he will not abandon them. He resolves to find a way for them to live safely.
The homunculi, led by No. 0001, whom Isshi names Premier, escape through a hidden passage. Outside, they discover their innate magical abilities. No. 0233, possessing spatial awareness, locates a suitable abandoned fort for shelter. Isshi, feeling responsible, decides they must clean and secure the fort. During this process, Premier reveals that homunculi subsist on human blood, a fact that deeply disturbs Isshi. However, he asserts his authority as Master and insists on providing his own blood, despite Premier's protests. He cuts his finger, and Premier drinks his blood, experiencing an overwhelming sense of devotion.
Isshi then presents the homunculi with three options for their future: living in hiding, integrating into human society (which he dismisses due to the inherent persecution), or establishing their own nation. He proposes they create their own kingdom, a radical idea that initially bewilders Premier. He argues that they are living beings who must adapt to their environment and that violence can be met with equal force. He declares himself their king, bestowing noble status upon them and establishing a single law: to retaliate against those who harm them.
Meanwhile, the heroes, Kazami and the elder Bazal, discover Salem's corpse and the remnants of his ritual. They lament the disappearance of the homunculi, as their mission was to destroy them.
The homunculi, inspired by Isshi's words and the realization of their own sentience, begin to embrace the idea of nation-building. Premier, now deeply devoted to Isshi, presents him with a map of the continent, detailing the four major nations: Ibul, Bakira Empire, Ratten, and Abarama. They are located in the northern part of the Ibul Kingdom, under the jurisdiction of the unpopular Duke Rowbill.
Their plans are interrupted when Verde, another homunculus, reports the approach of fifty armed bandits who have discovered their presence in the fort and intend to capture them for profit. Isshi, with the help of No. 0777, who can project external scenes, confirms the threat. He decides to fight the bandits, viewing this as their first war and a crucial step towards their eventual goal of establishing their own nation by taking territory from the Ibul Kingdom. He declares himself their king and the fort their territory, with all homunculi becoming nobles. The chapters conclude with the impending battle against the bandits, marking the beginning of their struggle for survival and independence.
