Meredia and Gerard were engaged out of love... or so she thought. One day, a woman appeared who was the wife of a high-ranking noble, Gerard's former lover, and, strikingly, bore a strong resemblance to Meredia.

She then understood why he, who was known as a misanthrope, had proposed to Meredia. Stories often end with love blossoming, but reality extends beyond that. She begins to ponder what must be done to spend her life with the one she loves.
