The protagonist, Anri, finds herself in a dark void where a beautiful, yet unsettlingly-eyed boy declares she must go to another world. Despite her initial refusal, he explains his choice was due to her "murky eyes that seem to swallow all the negativity in the world." He grants her three default abilities: enhanced physical ability, magic, and an item box. As a bonus, he offers one wish. Anri, tired of being feared due to her intimidating gaze and aura, wishes for her eyes and presence to be "normal." The boy grants her wish, and she is transported.
She awakens naked in a forest. Realizing she has no clothes, she accesses her item box, which contains a short dagger and a leather robe. She puts on the robe, feeling a slight relief. She then discovers her status screen, revealing her name is now "Anri," her race is Human, she's a 17-year-old female Mage, Level 1, with the title "Child of the Evil God." Her stats are unusually high, particularly her magic power, and she possesses skills like "Evil God Aura" and "Malice Eye," which seem to be the twisted version of her wish for normalcy. The "Evil God Aura" instills fear in those nearby, and "Malice Eye" instills fear in those she makes eye contact with. She also has "Blessing Bestowal," "Status Ailment Resistance," "Dark Magic," and "Item Box."
Anri's "normal" wish has resulted in her having the aura and eyes of an Evil God, making her even more intimidating than before. She encounters a group of bandits attacking a carriage. Fearing confrontation, she tries to slip away, but one of the bandits spots her. Her mere presence and gaze cause the bandits to flee in terror. The carriage owner, a man who was about to be robbed, throws a bag of money at her and flees in his carriage, mistaking her for a threat.
Anri, now possessing money, decides to head towards a nearby town called Riemel. She learns that entering the town requires a temporary identification card, which she obtains by paying a silver coin. Inside the town, she observes the economy and prices, noting that copper coins are worth 100 to a silver coin. She purchases underwear and shoes, as her current robe is her only clothing. She checks into an inn for the night.
The next morning, Anri discovers her room has been magically transformed into a luxurious, dark-themed chamber overnight, a result of her "Blessing Bestowal" skill. She also finds her dagger and robe have been upgraded to cursed, powerful items: the "Demon's Short Sword" and the "Evil God's Black Robe." These items cannot be removed.
Anri visits the Church to seek a way to remove the curses, but a barrier repels her. She realizes her "Child of the Evil God" title likely causes her to be perceived as an outsider or threat. She then goes to the Adventurer's Guild to register as an adventurer, hoping to earn money and find a way to deal with her situation. She takes on a simple herb-gathering quest.
After three days, Anri realizes that gathering quests alone are not enough to sustain her. She considers taking on monster subjugation or escort quests but is hesitant due to her skills and personality. She learns about a beginner's dungeon south of Riemel, intended for training.
Upon entering the dungeon, Anri discovers that monsters avoid her due to her "Evil God Aura." This prevents her from completing subjugation quests. While contemplating her predicament, her "Blessing Bestowal" skill activates, transforming the dungeon into "Evil God's Sanctuary" and making her the "Dungeon Master." She gains the "Dungeon Create" skill and the ability to control and modify the dungeon.
Faced with the consequences of her new title and the potential danger it poses, Anri decides to live within the dungeon. She uses her immense magic power to expand and fortify the dungeon, creating living quarters and setting up traps and powerful monsters to deter intruders. She also acquires a slave named Tena, a dying 14-year-old girl, whom she heals and elevates with her "Blessing Bestowal" skill, turning her into a loyal follower and servant. Tena's status screen reveals she has also gained significant magic power and skills, becoming an "Apostle of the Evil God." Anri plans to use the dungeon as a base of operations and a source of income, while also trying to manage her unique abilities and the growing complexities of her new life.
