This section of the light novel introduces the seemingly perfect high school student, Hoshine Tendou, who possesses exceptional academic, athletic, and aesthetic qualities, and hails from the world-renowned Tendou Group. Her loyal attendant, Eito Yagiri, has served her for over a decade. Hoshine, despite her privileged life, finds herself bored by the predictability of her existence, relying on her uncanny intuition.
The narrative takes a turn when Eito casually mentions being confessed to by a fellow student. This revelation causes Hoshine to drop her teacup in shock, revealing a deep-seated possessiveness and jealousy. She interrogates Eito about the confessions, particularly those that occurred during her family's trip, expressing frustration at her own oversight. Eito explains his unwavering loyalty to Hoshine, having dedicated his life to her, which prevents him from reciprocating any romantic interest. Hoshine, though pleased by his devotion, feels a pang of insecurity, admitting that despite having everything, she lacks the one thing she desires most: Eito's heart.
Later, Hoshine becomes intrigued by the concept of commuting by train after hearing her classmates discuss it. Despite Eito's warnings about the crowded conditions, Hoshine insists on taking the train home, intending to use the close proximity to her advantage. She orchestrates a plan to create a crowded train environment by enlisting help to ensure the carriage is packed. During the train ride, the manufactured crowd leads to physical closeness between Hoshine and Eito, a situation she relishes as a step towards her goal.
The story then shifts to Eito's perspective, highlighting his exceptional skills in academics, sports, and his gentlemanly demeanor, which attract many admirers, including those within the school. Hoshine is aware of this and views these admirers as "thieves" trying to steal Eito from her. She reflects on how she acquired Eito when he was abandoned, seeing him as a possession, but he has since defied her expectations by not always complying with her whims and even offering her guidance. Her desire for Eito's heart is paramount, and she is determined not to let anyone else have him.
A new character, Yukimichi Kazami, a childhood friend of Hoshine and Eito, is introduced. Yukimichi is perceptive and possesses high social and practical skills. He notices Eito's concern about Hoshine not having many friends. Yukimichi reveals that Hoshine has become more guarded recently, hinting at an incident where Eito intervened to protect a girl from harassment at the station, which resulted in him being physically attacked. This incident, unknown to Hoshine, has increased her wariness.
Meanwhile, a girl named Otoha Habataki, a famous "diva" who is currently on hiatus, falls from a building and is caught by Eito. Otoha is revealed to be a runaway, and Eito, feeling a sense of responsibility and reminded of Hoshine's own past attempts to gain attention, decides to accompany her. Otoha confesses that she cannot sing due to a psychological block stemming from her father's rejection of her singing. Eito helps her realize that she genuinely loves singing and encourages her to reconcile with her father.
Hoshine, worried about Eito when he doesn't answer her calls, learns from Yukimichi that Otoha Habataki had escaped from her hotel and attempted to descend from a rooftop using a rope, which likely broke. Hoshine rushes to find Eito, fearing the worst. She finds him with Otoha and, realizing the situation, offers them a ride home.
Later, Hoshine reflects on her failed attempt to confess her feelings to Eito, attributing it to their close proximity and his unwavering focus on her. She decides to take a slower approach.
The narrative concludes with the introduction of Otoha Habataki as a transfer student to Hoshine and Eito's class, a development that Hoshine dreads, sensing further complications.
