Description
The young second daughter of the Earl of Marc, a family with traditions stretching back to before the kingdom's founding, was named as the Second Prince's fiancée.
However, it was an arrangement with strong political implications.
Consequently, no love ever blossomed between them, and a little over ten years into their engagement, she received a proposal from the Prince to annul it.
The Prince claimed it was "freedom."
She, however, found herself thinking, "Why tell me that *now*?"
This post was an attempt to write a story along the lines of the "broken engagement leading to comeuppance" trope.
Despite intending to follow the template, the story turned out to be one that didn't deliver the satisfying comeuppance I had aimed for.
【Addendum: 2022/06/28】
This has received an unprecedented number of views (for me).
This is Nishikida, who nearly dropped my smartphone in surprise at a soba restaurant during my lunch break and received a puzzled look from my boss.
First and foremost, my sincere thanks.
Thank you for reading!
Thank you also for your ratings and comments :-)
Having read the comments, I've come to realize that I'm indeed lacking in terms of "how to conclude a story," or perhaps, "how to properly establish an epilogue."
Should I get the chance to write again, I'll definitely keep those points in mind!

(Genre Correction)
Thank you for pointing that out.
I have changed the genre to 【Human Drama】.
I allowed myself to be overly influenced by the elements of <another world> and <engagement annulment> that I wrote, leading me to incorrectly select the genre 【Romance (Another World)】.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
I never anticipated so many readers, let alone receiving comments, and I am simply overwhelmed with surprise and gratitude!
