Born as twins, Mariel, the younger sister, is likened to a flower for her adorable appearance, while Maryjerin, the older sister, is whispered to be a withered leaf due to her plain brown hair and brown eyes.

However, their mother disdained Maryjerin for her brown hair and brown eyes, colors common among commoners, and showered all her affection on Mariel, who possessed golden hair and blue eyes, just like herself.

Consequently, Maryjerin was removed from the line of succession to the Marquisate.
