The story follows Hasumi Yuuga, a high school freshman who embraces his role as a loner, finding contentment in his quiet, studious life. He works part-time as a delivery person for "ItsuItsu," a popular food delivery service.
Yuuga's routine is disrupted when he delivers to a luxurious apartment and finds the recipient is Shizuki Miori, a stunningly beautiful classmate known for her "Flashy Girls" clique. Miori, usually impeccably styled and made-up at school, is in a disheveled state at home, wearing sweatpants and no makeup, with her long hair unstyled. She is clearly embarrassed and attempts to pass herself off as her twin sister, but Yuuga, recognizing her despite the lack of makeup, sees through the lie. He accepts her explanation to avoid further embarrassment, but Miori eventually confesses the truth, admitting her fear of being judged for her plain appearance at home. Yuuga reassures her that he will keep her secret, emphasizing that he has no incentive to reveal it and doesn't want to make enemies.
The following day at school, Yuuga observes Miori interacting with her friends, the "Flashy Girls." He notes the stark contrast between her usual vibrant school persona and her more subdued home appearance. His only friend, Senba Haruomi, visits him during lunch, expressing his admiration for Miori and her "material." Haruomi, known for his charm and popularity, also reveals his habit of rejecting confessions due to his high standards.
Later that day, Miori intercepts Yuuga after school, still anxious about her secret. She questions him repeatedly about whether he has told anyone, and he patiently reassures her. Yuuga explains that he has no reason to betray her trust and that revealing her secret would only create unnecessary trouble for him. Miori, relieved and touched by his understanding, begins to see him differently.
Yuuga continues to deliver to Miori's apartment, and their interactions become more frequent. Miori, initially flustered by his deliveries, starts to relax, even ordering food from different restaurants. During one delivery, she reveals she lives alone, which surprises Yuuga. He also helps her troubleshoot her Wi-Fi, demonstrating a practical side that impresses her. Miori begins to show a more genuine appreciation for Yuuga, offering him chocolates as a thank you and engaging in more casual conversation. She also confides in him about her friends relying on her for homework and her limited social circle outside of the "Flashy Girls."
During a subsequent delivery, Miori appears in a "half-plain mode," wearing her sweatpants and no makeup, indicating a growing comfort level with Yuuga. She expresses her gratitude for his discretion and offers him chocolates again. Yuuga notices her more serious demeanor when discussing her social life and her struggles with self-expression.
The narrative culminates with Yuuga delivering to Miori's apartment on a Saturday. He finds her unwell, with a fever and leaning against the wall. Despite her initial reluctance, Yuuga decides to help her, carrying her into her apartment. This act signifies a shift in their relationship, moving beyond mere delivery person and customer to a more caring dynamic, hinting at a developing connection.
