A somewhat familiar near-future.

Yamano Taiki, who grew up in a unique environment, is invited by his stepsister and childhood friend to play a game with the rather off-hand title of "[A Story About a Certain VRMMO]."

However, during initial skill selection, he pours all his points into a strange skill he found tucked away in a corner. He might suddenly cause a world announcement to boom. Despite aiming for survival, he accumulates a pile of useless titles. And even though he plays with the same freedom as others, he somehow finds himself being called by strange epithets.

His real life is also far from peaceful, as he's either exasperated or laughed at by his stepsister and childhood friend, or constantly at the mercy of his quirky family members.

His daily life gradually shifts in an increasingly odd direction.
