大陸東部を中心に広大な版図を持つアグランド帝国。

数多く居る貴族の中でもそれなりの地位に居るレスタール辺境伯領の次期当主として生まれた俺、フォーディルトは贔屓目に言っても結構恵まれていると思う。

厳格な身分制度のある帝国で、しかも跡取り。

貴族の子女が通うことを義務づけられている帝都の学院でもそれなりの成績を上げているし、腕っ節も一目置かれている。

なのに、だ。

何故かモテない。

学院と、最低限の職務を終えて辺境伯領に帰るまでにどうしても結婚相手を探さなきゃならないんだが、今では名乗る前に女の子たちに距離を置かれてしまう始末。

確かにレスタール辺境伯領は帝都から遠く離れたド田舎で、口さがない連中から山猿などと呼ばれているが、条件は決して悪くないはず。

それに俺自身だって、そりゃあ都会的な美男子ってわけじゃないがそれほど悪くない、はず。……少し、ほんの少しばかり背が低いのはあるが。

そんなわけで、これは俺が理想のお嫁さんを見つけるまでの道のりを辿った物語である。

まぁ、その途上で成り行きからドラゴンと戦う羽目になったり、帝国で勃発した内乱をなんとかしたりして無駄に有名になってしまったけど、初志貫徹！

優しくて穏やかで可愛らしいお嫁さんを迎えるために奮闘する。

The Agland Empire, possessing vast territories primarily in the eastern part of the continent.

I, Fordilt, born as the next head of the Restar Frontier Countdom, a family with a respectable standing among the numerous nobles, consider myself quite fortunate, even with a biased view.

In an Empire with a strict class system, and an heir at that.

I've achieved decent grades at the Academy in the Imperial Capital, which noble children are obligated to attend, and my physical prowess is also respected.

And yet.

For some reason, I'm just not popular.

I absolutely *must* find a marriage partner before I finish the Academy and my minimum duties and return to the Frontier Countdom, but these days, girls keep their distance even before I can introduce myself.

True, the Restar Frontier Countdom is a remote backwater far from the Imperial Capital, and rude folks call us "mountain monkeys," but my conditions shouldn't be bad at all.

And I myself, while certainly not a metropolitan heartthrob, shouldn't be that bad either. ...Though I am, just a little, a tiny bit short.

And so, this is the story of my journey to find my ideal bride.

Well, along the way, I ended up fighting dragons due to circumstances, and somehow managed to resolve a civil war that erupted in the Empire, becoming needlessly famous – but my original resolve remains firm!

I will strive to welcome a kind, gentle, and lovely bride.
