"Welcome, welcome! To 'The Age of Good Old Mages'. You're a first-time visitor, aren't you? I see, returning from a dungeon. You must be tired. ...Oh my, you found a mountain of treasure in an orc bandit hideout? How fortunate!
That backpack seems to contain your haul. A spellbook with a story to tell, a golden shimmering dragon statue, a jade ring faintly imbued with magic, and even a dagger with an unusual aura. Quite a collection, it seems. ...You don't know the value of any of them? Of course. Of course. Items obtained in dungeons are invariably unappraised. Their value won't be known until they're examined, you see.
Well then, let's begin the 'Appraisal' at once!"
This is the story of a certain magic item shop in a labyrinth city, and the dungeon explorers who visit it.
The protagonist is, for all intents and purposes, the shop manager. An item otaku and caffeine addict. They have low blood pressure and are prone to dozing off, often getting scolded by the full-plate armored person. At first glance, they seem to have no redeeming qualities, but rest assured, their 'Appraisal' skill is apparently cheat-tier!
*The story is a series of short-short stories. Each story concludes with an item.
*Item descriptions (Appraisal Certificates) are provided at the end of each chapter.
