Shinichi Saito, a cynical and resigned 46-year-old Japanese temp worker, found his mundane life abruptly ended when a truck collision transported him to a pristine white void. There, a light-like entity, acting out of curiosity inspired by "isekai" light novels, offered him a new life in a medieval sword-and-magic world. Initially hesitant and desiring his old life, Shinichi accepted when faced with the alternative of certain death. Recognizing his age as a significant disadvantage, he shrewdly requested and received the unique skill "Reverse Age," which could gradually de-age him. He also adopted the new name "Ajifu."
Upon arrival, Ajifu discovered a game-like status system and his "Erart Language" skill was passively active. His first encounter with the world's brutality came swiftly as he witnessed bandits brutally murder carriage guards and abduct a young boy, leaving him feeling utterly powerless. This stark reality solidified his resolve to survive. He salvaged clothes and a small knife from the deceased, disposing of his conspicuous modern attire. Soon after, he faced a "Horn Rabbit," a common monster, in a desperate struggle that left him injured but alive, highlighting his initial weakness and the world's dangers.
Seeking refuge, Ajifu arrived at Luyana Pioneer Village, where he was cautiously welcomed by the kind village chief Nile, his healing wife Mefika, and the former D-rank adventurer Gain. He confessed his origins (partially) and offered his salvaged gold coin to help fund a guild request for the bandits, who were later confirmed to have sold the abducted boy, Rudy, into slavery. Ajifu, grateful for their kindness and desperate for a place to belong, begged to stay and work.
Over the next four years in Luyana, Ajifu diligently worked as a farmer, woodworker, and leathercrafter, slowly gaining practical skills and leveling up. He learned to process medicinal herbs from Mefika and hunted small monsters like Horn Rabbits and Forest Wolves with the help of Gain and the village hunter Zooki. His "Reverse Age" skill, though slow (requiring a year-long cooldown and careful MP management), gradually reduced his age from 46 to 36. This progress, however, meant he would soon look suspiciously young for his stated age, necessitating his departure.
To overcome his lingering fear of goblins, Ajifu enlisted Gain and Zooki for a hunting expedition. Despite their initial mockery, he confronted his fear, learning crucial combat lessons, such as adapting to a left-handed opponent and the limitations of his shield-and-spear style. He successfully defeated several goblins, gaining "Shield Arts" and leveling up to 8. This experience transformed him from a fearful novice into a capable, if still cautious, fighter.
With his age reversed and skills acquired, Ajifu bid a heartfelt farewell to the villagers, promising to return. Accompanied by Gain, he journeyed to the larger town of Poarso, where he began his transition into an adventurer's life. He learned about the town's entry rules, the absence of criminal detection magic at the gates (a relief given his "Visitor from Another World" title), and the existence of a Magic Guild. In Poarso, he purchased new leather armor and a longsword, selling his processed herbs to fund his new equipment and supplies, including various potions. His next goal: to visit the Magic Guild and finally learn magic, marking his full embrace of his new life in this fantasy world.
