Unlike elves and beastfolk, humans cannot use magic. Despite this, they possess magical energy within their bodies, and too much of it can lead to a disease called magic poisoning. Plagued by this magical energy since childhood, I was physically weak and could barely exercise. My family, the Earl Leslie household, has been knights for generations. My family looked at me with cold eyes. And so did Catalina, the sword with whom I had a contract. She was a sentient tool known as a 'Servant,' and by contracting with her, even humans could use magic. As someone suffering from magic poisoning, I barely managed to survive by contracting with her and using magic to release the magical energy within my body. My magical energy was so vast.

One day, my room door suddenly opened, and Catalina and my father entered. They fabricated a reason, claiming I had been violent towards Catalina and was trying to exploit her.

"Nikola. I am disinheriting you. I cannot allow someone who defies morality to inherit the title of Earl Leslie." My father said.

"I am terminating my contract with you. I can't take it anymore." Catalina said.

My contract terminated, disinherited, and cast out of my home, I woke up in a faraway place. I realized that the symptoms of magic poisoning had vanished from my body, and I was healthy. My body felt light. I knew why. And for the same reason, I had gained a certain ability...

My days had been arduous and painful.

This time, I will live a happy life.
