Chapters 3-12 detail the initial experiences of Kato Motoki, a reincarnated individual from Earth, in a new world, and his subsequent involvement with other reincarnated individuals and the native inhabitants.
Initially, Motoki finds himself in the opulent chambers of O-Luna, the Queen of the Orcs, who is furious. Her rage stems from an attack on an Orc stronghold by reincarnated individuals from Earth. These reincarnators, wielding "cheat" abilities granted by a goddess, are causing chaos, mistreating demi-humans like Orcs, and treating the world as a playground. Motoki, also a reincarnator, is an exception; he has befriended O-Luna through shared experiences and is staying at her castle as a guest. Despite her anger towards other reincarnators, O-Luna exempts Motoki from her vow to kill them all. She then requests Motoki's help in eliminating the other reincarnators, as she cannot defeat them herself. Motoki agrees, but with a condition: he wants O-Luna to allow him to do as he pleases with her body, driven by his attraction to her.
The narrative then shifts to Motoki's past on Earth. He was a seemingly ordinary man who, in his mid-twenties, quit his stable civil servant job to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. This decision led to estrangement from his parents and a difficult period living alone, struggling financially with an underground theater troupe. Despite the hardships, he found fulfillment in embodying different characters on stage. However, his demanding lifestyle led to him collapsing and dying, after which he reincarnated into this new world.
Upon arriving, Motoki found himself in the human city of Koura. He discovered he possessed no combat or magical abilities, initially believing he had been reincarnated without any special powers. However, after observing a child, he instinctively transformed into the child's likeness. He realized his unique skill, which he named "Mirror," allowed him to perfectly mimic anyone he saw. Initially, he used this skill for petty theft to survive, but he soon resolved to become a hero.
His plans changed when he encountered Ruruka, another reincarnated individual, a former high school girl. Ruruka introduced him to her companions: Elieya, an elf healer, and Kai, a powerful warrior wielding a magic sword. Motoki felt overshadowed by Kai, perceiving himself as a mere supporting character in Kai's heroic narrative. Despite this, he joined their party, which aimed to defeat demi-humans that oppressed humans. Motoki's role was infiltration and reconnaissance, using his "Mirror" skill to gather information on goblin and orc settlements. Through this, he began to see the similarities between humans and demi-humans, questioning the inherent superiority of humans and the imbalance of power caused by reincarnators.
Motoki grew disillusioned with the party's actions and the one-sided nature of the conflict. He decided to leave Kai's group to help the demi-humans counter the reincarnators. He traveled to the Orc Kingdom and, after solving a few incidents, gained O-Luna's trust and friendship, staying with her for over a year due to her beauty. O-Luna reiterated her request for him to eliminate other reincarnators, promising him intimacy in return for each kill.
Later, Motoki, accompanied by the boisterous high-orc daughter Ka-Ryu, is tasked by O-Luna to eliminate a reincarnator named Yutaro, who possesses elemental magic. They observe Yutaro attacking an Orc stronghold. Motoki explains to Ka-Ryu that reincarnators are likely tools for a goddess's amusement and that their strength can be undermined by disrupting their expected "heroic narratives," specifically by interfering with their romantic pursuits. Their plan is to thwart Yutaro's attempts to form a harem.
Motoki, using his "Mirror" skill, infiltrates Koura and gathers information about Yutaro and the women around him: Luguin (a female knight), Ruby (a shy bookstore clerk), Miria (a priestess), and Kirisha (a noble's daughter). He decides to target Ruby first. He transforms into Yutaro and visits Ruby, who is deeply grateful to Yutaro for avenging her parents. Motoki manipulates Ruby into believing he is Yutaro and spends the night with her, ensuring she won't reveal their encounter to the real Yutaro, thus disrupting his narrative. Meanwhile, Ka-Ryu, tasked by Motoki, breaks into Ruby's room and steals a manuscript, which turns out to be Ruby's own novel.
