With the development of gates to other worlds, each nation constructed special zones in pursuit of new resources. This is a world where each of them explores and develops these alternate dimensions, named 'Shinkai' (New World).

To mitigate the risk of humans being affected by unknown viruses or other elements upon direct entry into these other worlds, each nation dispatched dedicated remote-controlled robots, 'Actanoids'.

Chihaya Usuki, who had struggled with job hunting due to her timid nature and communication disorder, was drawn to the phrase 'fully remote work' and became an 'Actor'—an Actanoid pilot.

That very choice marked the birth of a bomber who would send shivers down the spines of everyone involved with Shinkai.
