In a village that had long been depopulated and abandoned as the times progressed, there lived a fox deity, so it is said.

The TV, ostensibly color, had long since stopped displaying anything, ignorant of concepts like 'digital' or 'analog.' Electricity had long ceased to flow, and who knew how long it had been since the radio batteries died.

For this fox deity, home appliances were still understood as the 'Three Sacred Treasures'—a being truly left behind by the times.

Yet, she was an exceptionally beautiful girl. And though she was probably classified as a *Kunitsukami* (an earthly deity), she was undeniably god-like.

Though she had no name yet, what suddenly appeared before this fox deity was a dungeon gate.

Believing it to be a curse, her smashing of 'the gate itself' marked the beginning of everything.

Now begins the story of the fox deity 'Inari,' who plunges into a modern society that, far from merely advancing, has been tremendously transformed by the emergence of dungeons.
