The girl, Aoki Sora, has parents who are an aircraft pilot and a flight attendant.

Born with "a love for the sky" seemingly coded into her genes, and thanks to her parents' specialized upbringing, she grew into a full-fledged sky junkie.

It didn't take long for her, who genuinely loves the sky more than three meals, to become dissatisfied with a life of simply keeping her feet on the ground.

However, as a human, and a freshly-minted high school student at that, flying through the sky on her own power is impossible.

Sora dreams of that distant world—a world that's there when she looks up, seemingly within reach if she stretches out her hand, yet she can neither reach nor grasp it.

Just then, her younger brother showed her a commercial for a VR game.

In it, players wearing mechanical winged armor—powered suits called "Exo-Armor"—were flying freely through the vast sky.

No sooner had the commercial ended than Sora dashed out of the house.

That's it, that's right! Even if it's impossible in the real world, in the game world... I can fly!

This is the story of a girl who endlessly loves the sky, flying to her heart's content in the game world... or so it should be.
