Description
The protagonist, alchemist Ray Palashe, after a fierce battle, barely manages to defeat a new species of monster and prevent his party's destruction.
While it should have been seen as a heroic act by anyone, he is instead reprimanded for defying the orders of the three corrupt viscounts, forced to pay for the broken sword, and ultimately expelled from the Adventurers' Guild.
Ray must find new work, but due to pressure from the corrupt guild master on all sides, he cannot find employment anywhere.
As he wallows in despair at a tavern, a man introduces him to a dark guild.
Ray heads to the dark guild.
There, he finds a slime being used as a test subject for the development of a new acid.
Ray rescues the slime and takes it home.
This slime appears to be a new species, and it can mimic various things.
A pumpkin, an onion, a stuffed animal, and... his deceased childhood friend.
This encounter with the slime becomes a turning point, drastically improving Ray's life.
He catches the eye of a Saintess, the granddaughter of an influential bishop, and dedicates himself to her ambitions.
Though adorable in appearance, she is a morally ambiguous Saintess who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals.
Ray performs admirably, and his career progresses smoothly.
Meanwhile, the Adventurers' Guild, due to Ray's departure, sees its profits drastically reduced and its management begins to falter.
Dissatisfaction with the guild master grows, and calls for Ray's return begin to emerge.
And then, the Saintess uncovers the wicked deeds of the three corrupt viscounts.
The Saintess begins to act, intending to bring about their ruin.
The express train to hell, carrying the villains, has begun its journey.
